In this competition, universities from around the world will gather for a series of races in the second half of 2008. The purpose of this competition is to generate interest in fuel-cell technology and to show the public that the hydrogen fuel cell is clean, safe, and fast!
"Formula Zero is the new zero-emission race class for hydrogen and fuel cells vehicles. The race class will commence with karts, and as the car industry moves to mass production of fuel cell vehicles, Formula Zero will scale up to being a full size racing class." -- Formula Zero

"Hydrogen has the potential to become a truly sustainable energy source because it can be produced from renewable sources like biomass, wind and solar power. Fuel cells turn hydrogen into electricity emitting only water.
