John Zhou
About: John is a first-year PhD student in the Neuroscience Interdepartmental Program (NSIDP) at UCLA, where he builds control algorithms for closed-loop neuromuscular and brain-computer interfaces. He received a BS in computer science from Columbia University in 2022, where he focused on statistical machine learning tools for spike sorting and video analysis. Outside of the lab, he enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and pretentious cooking.
